Build Map

For builders & sharers

What these capabilities mean

Platform is real. auth.grok.me, hub, Neon, Vercel publish, and xAI APIs are real platform surfaces. This app re-probes and explains them; it is not xAI’s official documentation product. How to read this

Specs only help if you can translate them into product decisions. This page is the “so what?” layer for shipping on the real Grok Build / *.grok.me stack.

What you can ship today

Full web apps and games on a *.grok.me URL: auth (Google/X/email), Postgres data when published, client interactivity, optional xAI chat/image/video/voice, hub listing, remix culture. If it runs in a modern browser and fits serverless + Neon, it fits.

What you should not assume

GitHub/ChatGPT/Apple social login, unlimited free AI for every visitor, durable multiplayer servers, arbitrary native mobile binaries, or published exact Neon GB / log retention. Unknown ≠ unlimited.

Preview vs published

Preview uses ephemeral PGLite and iframe popup auth — great for demos, not durable user data. Publish injects Neon + per-app auth so real accounts and rows stick.

AI cost reality

Runtime Grok calls spend the app owner’s XAI_API_KEY. Design visitor features carefully: sign-in gates, caps, caching. Image/video are far more expensive than short chat.

How this sheet stays honest

Template specs are labeled template. Live Lab re-probes the broker and related endpoints so idp support can change without rewriting prose. Numbers Vercel publishes generically are labeled inferred. Gaps stay unknown — never invented.

Needful reminders

Real platform, independent sheet

Endpoints and capabilities described here (Grok broker, Better Auth, Neon/PGLite, Vercel publish, xAI API) are real parts of the Grok App Builder environment. What is “unofficial” is this app as a document: it is a builder-made map + live probe tool, not the canonical help center or support channel.

What “measured” means

Live Lab and Bank smoke tests are server-side HTTP checks against the real public surfaces at a point in time. They confirm reachability and broker idp accept/reject behavior. They are not SLAs, pricing contracts, or promises that nothing will ever change.

What “template / unknown” means

Template claims come from the Grok App Builder skills wired into the sandbox (real product constraints). Unknown means a hard number (e.g. exact Neon GB) is not published here — we refuse to invent quotas. Unmeasured ≠ fake; unknown ≠ unlimited.

When official sources win

If this sheet and official material disagree, trust docs.x.ai, Vercel docs, and in-product Grok settings for policy and billing. Use this sheet for hands-on “what does the broker accept right now?” and builder-template truth.
